The SGC, Genetic Alliance and The Fred Eshelman School of Pharmacy - UNC Chapel Hill are holding a research “speed dating” event on October 14, 2015 involving disease advocacy organizations, the SGC, and partners from the pharmaceutical industry.

The goals of the event are to identify opportunities ripe for scientific collaboration and to define common bottlenecks and means to address them.

Invited members of disease advocacy organizations will be presenting their scientific strategy and perceived gaps. Similar talks by SGC scientists will be interspersed to introduce the SGC research programs and capabilities. There will then be a mix of open time and facilitated activities to identify where collaboration would be beneficial and to develop new plans and partnerships to further accelerate the drug discovery process.

The day will be highly interactive, and we hope to end it with commitments to action and advocacy.
